Buyers with low number of feedback

I have just started selling on eBay and have 181 feedback.

I have seen lots of auctions which ask people with 1 or 2 feedback to email before bidding. What are these emails likely to say? How do you filter people who have just started versus a scammer?

Is there a general place where I can keep on top of eBay scams? Most of my feedback is as a buyer rather than seller so I want to be prepared.

Thanks.

You can change your seller settings to not accept bids from buyers with less than X number of feedbacks if you'd prefer. Not sure how you'd filter out people who are likely to let you down, not pay etc, or about where to find out about eBay scams though.

I don't get it either. Worrying about sellers with minimal f/b makes sense to me, but not buyers.

If you are selling something very expensive, scammers may buy it and then claim it was fake or didn't arrive. PayPal nearly alway side with the buyer.

I had this problem when selling designer items.

If you are selling lower priced goods then I wouldn't worry.

To be honest I am one of those sellers, I haven't always been but in the last 6 months alone I've had approx 10 sales fail due to buyers with little or no feedback not paying etc I politely ask buyers with little or no feedback to contact me because I know if they do then they are genuine. like I said its been a long run up to me posting that on my sales but feel its necessary because of experiencing so many time wasters x
