they should give you a good range of couriers who deal with heavy bulky items.

Or I have used

in the past to transport personal items. Don't know about their tracking service so might be best to stick with a courier in case of dispute issues.

what happens with that company if item is damaged/lost? it doesn't say anywhere on there

Try www.freightstars.com i have used them on large items and got a good price. They offer quotes free so you may be able to save a few quid.

I'd also recommend clicktrans.com to get quotes :)
