In theory MyHermes is great and to be fair I've no issue with them when sending non-breakables, they've been fine, but the three times I've sent vert well packed fragile items the feckers have broken them. So, I'm wondering, can anyone suggest another courier with comparable prices and a better track record please?

Thanks!

with fragile items the secret is double boxing

personally I think ceramics glass do much better with Royal mail

all need 2 layers of bubble wrap with polystyrene packing the item should no touch walls of box, it much be packed tight enough so not loose in box but not really really tight as then nothing to absorb impact , if you hold box in front of you and just drop it on hard florr it shoudl survive if packed well enough if it does not packing was at fault

never pay extra insurance for any courier for ceramics as you are only covered against them losing it you will get nothing back if broke ( actually same with royal mail unless send special delivery)

if item unpacked weighs 300g is probably going to weigh 500g almost packed

if expensive ceramics need double not single wall boxes

Thank you ever so much. I'm a novice at all this so that advice is invaluable. Oh shoot, now I have to get bigger boxes! Grin
