How do I drive traffic to my ebay shop?

I am thinking of opening a ebay shop, firstly is it worth it? would it be better than doing my own website up, or do you think i am more likely to get customers via ebay?

what is the difference between when someone sells ordinarily on ebay, then they also have an ebay shop . Is it the same goods and same prices? I dont understand. it says items i am selling and visit my shop. The difference?
