We are selling one of DHs shirts.

It clearly states UK only listing. So far I have rebuffed people from Korea, Italy and USA.

What do we do if some muppet buys it from outside the UK? can I cancel it? one of them is saying he is going to buy it anyway to force us to send it to him, WTAF?

I have had this since 7am. Blardy fed up now. And I'm off the wine. I need wine.

HELP. Please.

Wow - popular shirt!

I don't think they can force you to send it if you have stuck it as a UK-only listing but I just wanted to say that as a former resident of Ireland it used to bug me a lot when listings were UK only...when I ebayed from UK, it was no extra bother to post to Ireland/USA/wherever from there!

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/04/2012 18:33

It's because we sent something abroad once and it got lost. We lost money so we are much tougher now.

Can you edit the listing to say in huge letters UK ONLY?

BarbieDahl · 30/04/2012 18:37

I think you can change the settings to only accept bids from the UK. I am in France and sometimes buy on ebay UK but not if people have put UK only .

I must admit I don't understand why people are reluctant to post abroad when the buyer is paying the postal charges what difference does it make what the address is ?

AnEcumenicalMatter · 30/04/2012 18:37

You cab adjust your settings to block bidders from countries you don't post to.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/04/2012 18:38

I did that at 16.30.

He's still messaging me. I feel like I am banging my head on a brick wall with it now.

I did not know you could do that. I will try to figure it out.

Ah yes, Fluffy - that mysterious "abroad" things can get lost!

We had things get lost within the UK - no postal system is perfect. Where we were posting to what we considered a potentially high risk area, we used to put a caveat in, obtain proof of postage and see how it went!

However, I do think it's odd that people are being so insistent to buy it despite it being a UK only listing - that is annoying but I think you'll be protected from having to post it to deepest darkest abroad by your listing being UK Only.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/04/2012 18:55

Ha! Blocked him.

Thank you.

what kind of shirt is it???

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/04/2012 18:57

All Saints.

There stuff goes really well, you can literally buy something, wear it for a year and re-sell.

I don't blame you - I lived in Malaysia and not one package NOT ONE! Made it to me in 3 years.

I once went to the post office and said have you got a package for nomorecake? The man behind the counter said "Is it a teddy and some children's clothes?" "YES YES YES" I replied. Guess what he said "No sorry Ma'am we haven't received a package for you" I made sure no one ever sent me any packages after that.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/04/2012 19:25

Nomore, that awful.

Thieving buggers.

If you go into buyer requirements you can block people in countries you dont sell to. It's working already, just blocked a malaysian buyer.

It was annoying but understandable. You can't really stay mad at someone when you know they probably earn about 50 GBP per month. I always had a eye out for little kids in pretty gap dresses Wink

dizzyday07 · 30/04/2012 22:01

All my auctions are blocked to overseas bidders - as we all know that just because you write UK only people don't necessarily read the description in it's entirety!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 30/04/2012 22:10

FuckedOff why the rolly eyes? You can send recorded to UK and claim if it doesn't get delivered. Not so with sending OS (AFAIK!)

WhenDoISleep · 01/05/2012 10:19

You can claim if you post overseas via standard Airmail and the parcel gets lost. Royal Mail consider the parcel lost after 20 business days (I think) so a little longer than the UK. The form you complete for compensation is the same as the UK form - it just gets send to a different address for processing. You need to include proof of postage etc. the same as for an Inland claim.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 01/05/2012 10:23

Ah, I didn't know that - v interesting, thank you!

Babylon1 · 04/05/2012 14:59

I had similar last week, buyer in France paid 250GBP for a leather motorbike jacket. I told him I only posted to UK and paypal address, which he ignored, but it worked out in the end, I refused to send item unless it was signed for and it cost him an extra 60GBP via parcelforce global priority, which I tracked until signed for!
I also made him pay the extra 60 before I would post.

He wasn't happy but when I gave him the option of providing a Uk paypal address to send to, as per my listing, I think he could see he was pretty stuffed really!!!

bonzo77 · 04/05/2012 15:22

you can block all buyers from areas you don't post to.
