Won a moses basket last night for only £6 thought i had a bargain so i emailed today asking when to come and collect it, just had a reply saying he sold it yesterday via a different selling site.

i checked his feedback a few days ago and apparently he had sold a bike for 356 and the buyer had left neg feedback saying he wouldnt let him collect it, so obviously they didnt make enough money for him and he just wont sell, obviously i cant make him sell me it but can i get him a strike through ebay anyway? dont think he should be allowed to just get away with it.

That is rubbish (him, not you). he is an eejit of first order.
I'd love you to tell us his Ebay name...
Try this link.
bet he'll just reregister under a different name, but you'll get some satisfaction following the link (I think).

Hi

i just tried the link, it says its too early to open a case yet, but i havent paid as it was a collection item only, is there anything else i can do? the person who won the bike and left feedback has emailed me back too saying he would love report him, seems he makes quite a habit of it as he told this person the bike had been stolen yet ive seen it on our local gumtree this morning!

arrgghhh!! if you want more for it just put on a reserve instead of pissing people about!

You can open a dispute within a few more days. You could go ahead & just leave neg feedback now, but not sure if you wouldn't get more done by waiting to open it formally as a dispute (see what other MNers say).
You could ask on Ebay buyers discussion boards, too. They are very informed, not too scary. :)

mrfreeze · 25/04/2012 13:08

Thanks for that ill try and ask on those boards too. i dont want the thing now after the email hes sent me, very rude and harsh so id hate to have to meet him if i went and picked him up, much rather do it through ebay (coward emoticon!)

Then try free cycle, there has been about six Moses bakers this week on mine already!

mrfreeze · 25/04/2012 13:16

Thanks for the tip, ill try them now Smile

there is nothing you can do - just leave appropriate feedback and stars. the only reason to open a dispute is if you have paid, and as you haven't there is nothing to be done.

hermionestranger · 25/04/2012 13:26

Baskets not bakers! GrinGrin

mrfreeze · 25/04/2012 13:34

fergoose is there nothing along the lines of when a buyer doesnt pay you can open a non paying dispute, surely there should be if there isnt one that you can open a non selling seller, seems like he can just keep relisting this till it makes the price he wants and not be punished for it.

You used too be able to report as a non performing seller but you can't do that anymore - you just need to leave feedback and appropriate stars.

Also if you don't pay the seller can file a non paying bidder report against you which will give you a black mark, and the seller will recoup their final value fees. They may instead try to cancel the sale to get their fees back - if you refuse this cancellation they don't recoup the fees, but if you don't refuse a cancellation the seller will get the fees back.

mrfreeze · 25/04/2012 14:25

Thanks for the info, i also asked on the ebay discussion boards and someone has sent me a link to enable me to report them for under seller non performance which ive now done. still have no faith in ebay that they will do anything but at least i feel better Smile. thanks for all your help

Oh ffs, just checked my ebay account now and hes left me feedback saying im a very rude arkward buyer and to avoid at all costs, its a positive but still is there anyway i can remove it, ive just replied underneath explaining for now..

ive only been on ebay for 3 months and its starting to become clear why people moan about it !

OP posts:
fergoose · 25/04/2012 15:05

well he is not allowed to do that - contact eBay and they will remove it and he will get a strike. Go to live chat.

mrfreeze · 25/04/2012 22:26

Yes a crap seller left me a posivitve with a negative comment.
It is against eBay rules. Just email eBay and ask them to report it you'll need the item number.

Its idiot sellers and slow payers that make eBay so hardwork.
