Texas AAAAARGGHHHH

Not a request for help just a bloody RANT.

I run an ebay shop and I'm usually happy to send International.

  1. At the weekend, someone in Texas bought 2 items and then said she'd send me a cheque! I pointed out that my Ts&Cs said Paypal only. Snotty email back today asking me to post cheque back as she had already posted it and to cancel order.
  1. Someone else in Texas (never sent to Texas before so 2 in 3 days Hmm) bought an item that didn't have International P&P quoted on it (a few haven't but when we do the new P&P rates (bloody, bloody RM Angry) at then end of the week we're going to make sure all of them have it on.). They managed to enter a P&P charge of £1.99 - interesting as it will cost £2.07 for the stamp alone, and that's only if it's under 100g (its borderline so down to packaging)

Rant over (unless some other numpty Texan buys from me)

That was a lovely rant Mrs Zoidberg, I enjoyed sharing. I dont mind the fact that the world is full of numpties - but how come they always seem to cross our paths? What is it you have to sell that everyone in Texas is desperate for? xx

Thanks Dorothy. Feeling slightly less ranty. I sell craft items, a complete mix - i.e. jewellery making, card making, knitting, sewing etc. The first one bought 2 sets of extra long pins, the second a border punch. Nothing exciting or unique! I did manage to sell a bead storage organiser to another American buyer which was funny as I import them from .......... Yes you guessed it America!

Mind you, I have also managed to sell a Boomerang to Australia Grin

How funny is that, exporting it back to where it came from! Never mind, the customer is always right eh.

And a Boomerang to Australia - gosh, you re certainly in the right business. Have you got a link to your shop? I love crafty bits.

If you have any ideas of what else I can stock, then I'm happy to find an American supplier for it Grin

Oh how annoying and what a numpty - what were you going to do with a cheque (or even check as we call them here in Texas) in dollars? I would never try and pay a US check into my UK bank account. (I live in Texas, but I'm not from here!)

DorothyGherkins · 24/04/2012 18:54

OOoh thanks for the link, will have a browse after I ve eaten!! xx

MrsZoidberg · 24/04/2012 19:07

wentshopping - I hope I haven't offended you, it wasn't aimed at all Texans - just the numpties that live everywhere! It's just strange to have 2 from the same area in the same weekend!

I have posted quite a bit to USA with no hassles, then 2 at once!

DH said I could bank the cheque (check Grin) but it would take several weeks to clear - I don't think my buyer would be happy with that!

oh no, no offence taken (or offense as they say here) - I'm not from here :)
