I recently bought something on ebay and paid via paypal - the buyer has just emailed saying that due to an open case against them all money transfers have been stopped and they'll send the item once the case is sorted. Is this what happens? What should i do?

oh dear. don't suppose they're close enough for you to collect and pay cash?

tbh it could be quite a while before the case is sorted...

Unless the case that the seller has open against them involves you, there is no reason for them not to send the item as they should have the money from you in their Paypal account.

How long ago did you win and pay for your item?

Codandchops · 20/04/2012 10:05

Confused But surely they can see you have paid - even if they cannot access the money.

If your money is being held by Paypal I'd be tempted to say "I've paid so please send the item" or request a refund.

BertieBotts · 20/04/2012 10:08

Surely if money transfers have been stopped, then Paypal would have rejected the payment?

Sounds like a scam to me. I'd wait the required number of days (10 I think?) and then open a case with ebay. It's up to them then to argue with ebay that they aren't able to recieve money.

Thanks everyone - they've now said they'll send the item asap so we'll see what happens Confused
