Buyer is collecting but hasn't paid through PayPal

He needs to go through PayPal surely - has offered cash - how does that work?

No no no You must always try and get paid in cash if they collect in person. Otherwise someone could claim they haven't received the item and paypal will refund them, as you have no online tracking to prove you sent it.

Always send recorded delivery when you accept paypal, and always take cash when you sell face to face.

Erm, he gives you cash when he picks up the item, get him to sign a receipt if you feel you need to. You don't want him to go through paypal as he can then say he hasn't received it, and you would have to pay him back as you would have no proof of postage
