Ive just sold over £300 worth of clothes etc on eBay - I've had ONE buyer message me saying they are not happy.

Apparently the top has a hole in it & is dirty. The message they sent was really really rude & aggressive :(

I've asked them to post me the top back & I will refund them the sale price & the price of their postage back to me.
They've now said they just want to chuck it in the bin and have a full refund. They've offered to send me photos of it in the bin.

Arghhhhhhh I'm just ranting really.

In all seriousness tell em to Fuck off!

Goods returned to you, money returned to them.

No goods no money.

You think they would get a refund in a shop for a photo of something in a bin?

rhibutterfly · 17/04/2012 18:10

nothing stopping them from taking the photo in the bin then wash and wear the top, as only4 says no return, no money

shrinkingnora · 17/04/2012 18:26

They're calling your bluff. Be ultra nice and say you're keen to improve your service so need to see what was wrong with it. Bloody chancers.

no way! they don't send it back they don't get a refund, end of story.

Calamityboo · 17/04/2012 18:44

No return, no refund, also think about reporting this to ebay, so they know about it if your seller decides to try it on again. This is clearly a fraud!!

notcitrus · 17/04/2012 19:01

Need return for refund. And say you will compare item with your detailed photos you have. I bet they shut up!

lagoonhaze · 17/04/2012 19:18

You also don't have to refund their postage so are bring very fair by agreeing to do so.

JustHecate · 17/04/2012 19:19

they're trying it on. Tell them to send it back and you will happily refund their money.

Thank you

I felt so sad when they sent me the message at first. It's SO aggressive. Basically saying how scummy I must be to not have just thrown the top away myself rather than bother to store it & then try to flog it.

And it COULDN'T have been dirty. I washed all this stuff and bloody ironed it. Hmm

when you contact them do make sure you mention that you took plenty of pictures.

i would also contact ebay now and see what they suggest you do if the top comes back not in the same condition you sent it

if it helps you feel better, I had a message from a buyer once saying a jumper I had sold them had a hole in it and there was no way on earth she could contemplate putting her dd in it. I was upset at her vehemence as my dd had been wearing the jumper as a smart jumper for a couple of years! It made me feel very small. In the end, I refunded her and paid for her to return it. I kid you not, I spent ages looking the jumper over and over, trying to find the hole. In the end, I discovered a small break in the neck seam - easily fixed with one stitch and genuinely unnoticable in any way once on (the neck sort of folded under the jumper). Talk about buyers trying it on! I had to chalk it up to experience but I wanted to send her a very rude email.

I agree with everyone else here. Only refund if and when you receive the item back, and yes, it might have been damaged by the buyer. It is things like this that make you not want to ebay, isn't it?

Essene · 17/04/2012 21:39

I forgot to say, I then blocked that particular buyer so I won't make the mistake of selling anything to her ever again. I know there are 1000s of nasty people out there, but it helped me to feel I was getting a tiny bit of my own back. Blush

FlouncyMcFlouncer · 17/04/2012 21:50

Please don't be sad over this, there are lots of scammers out there and this is one of the most common ones. She wants the top for free. No return, no refund, and ebay will back you on that one.

I had the exact same thing last week.....dirty item with a hole, only fit for the bin. The way the messages were worded it made me think she was making a 'career' out of complaining and getting a refund!
