Just bought a car seat on ebay. The seller agreed I could get a courier to pick it up and very kindly found a box to put it in.

However she's just sent me the measurements and apparently it's 4ft x nearly 7ft x just over 3ft !

I said I'd assume she had meant centimetres, but she wrote back saying no, it's inches and it fits perfectly.

I have this car seat, it's nowhere near that big, it's the size of a car seat!

So am I going completely mad or has she made a mistake. I can't organise a courier for something the size of a small room

what she put was 39 inches x 47 inches x 80 inches.

That's got to be centimetres right?

The 7ft must be wrong. Message back explaining that 7ft (or 84 inches) would be taller than an extremely tall adult male. Is she sure it's that size??

Surely that's wrong !! Why would anyone have a box 7ft wide ???

Praps only the 80 was in cm. So easy for dullards people to read the wrong side of the tape measure.

I have asked her if she would mind checking I don't want to upset her, she's an absolute sweetheart and has been great so far.

But 80 inches She did say it's an old pushchair box, and the seat fits perfectly in it and doesn't need any extra padding.

I think something's up somewhere.

No pushchair box is that tall. Ask her to remeasure.

Even 47 inches tall, well that's the height of a maclaren box but still, not for a car seat - they're more square aren't they?
