Am I not allowed to leave neutral feedback as a seller?

I need to leave feedback for a buyer who only paid after I opened an unpaid item dispute.

I only seem to have the option to leave positive feedback but I don't see this as particularly positive ebay behaviour - what are my options?

None I'm afraid. To Ebay, Buyers are golden and can't have negative feedback.

You could leave a negative comment with a positive score, but I just don't bother. As a seller I don't even look at feedback now as it's of no use.

don't leave a negative comment - it will be removed and you will get your knuckles wrapped. Just don't leave any at all is prob best, at least then you are not upping their score.

Thanks for that.

I really don't understand why ebay take this stance though - buyers can be good or bad and why shouldn't sellers be able to leave honest feedback?

I will leave feedback saying that they only paid after an unpaid item dispute was opened just so that I feel that I've fulfilled my obligation as a seller.

Really Fergoose? (Cross posts!)

I was under the impression that I should leave feedback?

no feedback is voluntary - you don't have to leave any. And no you must not leave neg statement on positive rating - is against the rules.

sellers were stopped from being able to neg buyers to allow buyers to be honest, and prevent retaliatory neg feedback.

Having the constant reminder that I need to leave feedback for 1 item is annoying me so I think that I'll just say that payment was received after an unpaid item dispute was opened - that's not really negative is it? Just stating facts really.

I can see why it was stopped, but don't really agree that only buyers should have the chance to be honest.

no that would be considered a negative. Just delete the items from your sold listings then you won't have a reminder. Feedback is purely voluntary - there is no need to leave it at all. It isn't really that important.

Great. That's what I'll do then.

You really do have a great knowledge and understanding of the way that ebay should and does work - thanks for being so helpful Smile
