How much difference does time of listing make?

Time of day/ month/ year?

18m ago DH lost his job which was horrible. I'm a terrible control freak and to give myself some "control" I decided to take action and list a load of stuff on Ebay. I'd never done it before and was amazed by how much money I made selling stuff that in more comfortable times would have gone to the tip Blush

Since then though I've listed a few other batches of things but really haven't had the same success. What am I doing wrong?

What sold well when & what sold badly when?
I think the maj. view is Fri/Sat evenings sell better (higher prices) than weekday evenings.
Seasonal stuff needs to go at right season.
Maybe you've just sold your good stuff & are not working thru the mediocre?

Been slow since Xmas, though, probably autumn is best time to sell most things, anyway.

I find evenings best, mondays and tuesdays rather than weekends. Don't clash with soaps if possible i reckon.

Having said that eBay is now swamped with sellers, and buyers have no money to spend or huge choice of bargains.

I think fridays / saturday evenings a bad idea as people often out but does depend what you are selling,

I like to have (mostly technical or work) items end on a Sunday evening, so the bidders will be in a good mood, not busy at work, and can let their excitement mount up as they try to outbid each other.

I normally end on a Sunday night but not sure it makes much difference. There is a plethora of sellers now and not so many buyers. Sucks really.

Sometimes it is a luck thing. I have had no interest then relisted a week or two later and had loads of interest. Agree that ending on quieter nights better (or not over Easter weekend as that has been quiet).

I find any evening except Fri/Sat is ok to end. ending at other times results in many a bargain when I'm buying.

Suspect as more people get smartphones then ending during commute times will be good.
