how do you change the listing?

If you've had no bids you should just be able to add the Buy It Now price by doing 'edit listing' I think. But if there are any bids you won't be able to.

ggirltwin2pinot · 06/04/2012 19:56

there are no bids yet
so the buy it now goes on and the person has to just watch out for it and buy it?

The only time I've been asked to do BIN is when the item is likely to go for much more than they are offering as BIN price. I wouldn't do it if I were you. Let them bid and see how it goes.

Cancel the listing then provide your paypal email address for teh buyer to send payment to, alternatively you can ask for their paypal email address and create an invoice for them. By doing this you skip the ebay fees Wink. You will only be allowed to cancel the listing if it has no bids, but if it has bids it needs to be 24 hours prior to auction ending

thanks
obviously my BIN price was too high as never heard back
anyway have 25 watchers and some bids now so auction is carrying on
will know what to do next time

no don't cancel the listing and provide your paypal address - that is fee avoidance and you risk your eBay account

MadamePinot · 09/04/2012 16:02

Don't do what Birdy said - it's not allowed and you risk being suspended. Plus no seller protection.

For future ref, just go to Edit Listing and amend it but only id theres adequate time left on the auction and no bids.

25 watchers? Cool!

Birdylade · 09/04/2012 16:24

I feel quite naughty now... I have sold large or very expensive items this way, I didn't realise it risked my account being closed down!

MadamePinot · 09/04/2012 16:26

Birdy you rebel! But yeah it's really risky. If any buyer told ebay you'd be screwed :(
