postage query

I brought two items off one seller, didn't realise until after I had paid separately for them. No mention of combined postage on either listing and as I paid separately I expected two parcels to arrive. Vowed to actually check in future and put it down to experience.

No, they have sent both in one. So I have paid for twice for one parcel. The second item would not have bumped up the price of posting (very light and small item).

Is there anything I can do apart from emailing to say? Would/can ebay do anything?

Always try and resolve it with the seller first as they may not have realised that they could do dual postage. Does the package say how much the postage was? If they had to use any packaging for the second item you will need to take that into account as they may not refund all of the cost. do not threaten to report them to ebay as no point getting the seller upset on the first go! If they dont respond then go to the complaint resolution area on ebay if you really want to. Also check there feedback to see if anyone has complained about this before.

You have the threat of marking down their DSRs & negative feedback, so really all the leverage is on your side. If I thought the postage overcharge was > £1.50 I might email to ask for a partial refund. If a buyer asked me for that I'd be pretty quick to try to refund something, just to keep them happy.

I sell lots of small items and always offer combined postage, but I sometimes miss it, or forget to refund the difference.

I do get irritated by buyers who pay for the items individually as each sale costs me 20p plus a percentage for Paypal fees, so if you wait for a combined invoice, it saves me moeny that I can pass on to you ifyswim.

Sorry, not getting at you as I see it wasn't intentional - just a general rant.

If the buyer emails me, I am more than happy to correct the oversight though, and would much prefer this to receiving low stars. Please email them to start with and actually give them a chance, as sherbertpips says, no threats at first as it could just be a genuine mistake, you can always send a second, more forceful email if needed.

If you paid separately they have to send in 2 parcels. I would ask the seller for a partial refund if I was you.
