I don't get it. Removing figures from BNIB Lego?

I was just looking at the Harry Potter lego sets as DD wants the Hogwart's Express for her birthday, and being nosey was looking at the other sets. I was Shock to see that there were several sets saying "brand new without minifigures", saying that the figures had been carefully removed by making a small hole in the bags, and then resealing.

This may seem like a really really stupid question but why do it? I can understand maybe one or two people may want those extra figures for their collection already but there seemed to be loads on there saying this. Can anyone enlighten me?

Do they get more money by selling the figures separately? Look at the sellers' other items and see.

If you look for the figures separately they are probably selling for £££ greedy sellers :)

Sounds a bit strange. Maybe the figures are worth more money on their own. Is there any listings for just the figures?

x post!

I have sold stuff on eBay with small items removed. eg my DS wanted a particular train and it only came with a huge set. We didn't want the huge set so sold it on eBay, noting that one of the trains had been removed.

Haha just had a look and yes you're right. Each figure selling for about £7 - £8. Given that the main set for removing figures had 11 figures in them, then that's a nice tidy profit they're making.

As you say TheDetective greedy sellers
