How do I search how much similar things have sold for?

I'm sure I've heard on here I can do such a thing, but I can't work out how. I've spotted a piece of furniture I really like but I have no idea how high bids may get up to. Searching how much this item of furniture has sold for locally may help me work out if I can get excited about getting it might get it

Click Completed Listings only towards the bottom of the left hand column

you can try searching in Ebay itself,to see if there are any similar items going with a buy it now price. Or just type the item into Google, sometimes a similar item that has sold will come up in a general search

On the left hand side of the search page, in the shaded grey block, you should be able to see an option 'Show Only'. Under that, you will be able to select 'Completed Listings'.

Excellent, thanks, have been having a great nose and now it seems I could end out paying anything from £150 - £550 won't be able to afford anything near the top estimate
