Bought something to pick up, now realised they live miles away...

Bought an item to pick up from what I thought said the name of a town down the road from us, but turns out to be 63 miles away (another town with an err... slightly different name). I think it was just wishful thinking making me read it wrong. How can I get out of this? I feel a fool, and feel bad letting the seller down. Don't want bad feedback either.

Just e-mail them and explain the mistake, i'm sure they will be ok, they can offer it to the next bider or re-list. You can't get bad feedback as a buyer.

I've had this as a seller before now as there are 3 towns with the same name!

If you really want it,arrange a courier.

you can not be left bad feedback but they could technically raise and win a non paying buyer, 1 does not matter but once you have 2 you may be excluded from bidding on some peoples stuff, you can select to block biiders with 2 or more unpaid cases

I would ask if they will wrap for a courier if it just needs bin bag fine but if they need to find huge box and lots of bubble wrap you are going to need to pay for packing

you need to be very apologetic as your mistake

You can always ask the seller to send a mutual cancellation request, and apologise. This happened to us recently.

Unlike the others I wouldn't be happy for you to arrange a courier. As the seller I would have no protection from Ebay, as you would be the one with the courier's tracking.

I also would not be happy to sit in all day, waiting for a courier to arrive, if I'd been prepared to do that I'd have offered courier posting in the listing.

It all depends on the seller's POV though
