I have never used sniping before, and thought I might test it out. Does anyone have a view of which sites are good and which are not ? I am naturally sceptical and think everyoone is out to scam me!!!

this is the one I use. I don't use it v often, preferring to make the bids myself. I use the free service, which means your bid will be entered approx 10-15 seconds before the auction ends, so plenty of time for someone else to bid after you unless your bid is fairly high.

PM me if you can't work out how to use the site as it isn't immediately obvious!

Thanks, soaccidentprone , I will give it a try!

goofbay

sarahtigh · 04/03/2012 14:40

i second goofbay with 5 seconds left

PurpleFrog · 04/03/2012 16:49

Goofbay here as well. I think it only let me down once.... (not saying I have won each time, but only once my bid didn't go in!) I usually do it with 7 or 8 seconds left.

soaccidentprone · 05/03/2012 10:04

I used Goofbay last night for the first time. Loads better then Lotsnipe!

I went for 4 seconds before the auction ended, and it went to my maximum bid, so it's a good job I went high!

I usually think about how much the bids go up by, then add on a few pence more ie never £20, more like £22.56. I have sometimes won by 2p!

You have to be canny to win,
