hi hope you can help. i have sold an item today and hte buyer is local. they have emailed to ask if they should pay by paypal before they come and collect (actually i would probably drop it off as its en route to somewhere im going later).

so which would be better, for them to pay by pay pal or for me to ask for cash? i take it i would only deliver the goods to them once the paypal transaction had been confirmed???

i was going to send it courier but as they're so local...

if its collection abosolutely cash!! not only will you not have to pay pal fees but IF they pay by paypal and then say they have not recived the item they can claim a refund if you have no tracking number from courier or post office.
ALWAYS do cash if its collection!!!

ok thank you. have now responded to say that if i deliver it will be cash only, adn he's given me a different address to deliver to (his BIL house where he will be). am feeling nervous about this - in case he's likely to take the goods and not hand over cash - or worse! was ok until he suggested a diff address (tho there is a mob number too). have i been reading the daily mail too much
