Wish me luck!!

How does it look?

I've got loads of things that I've been intending to try to sell on e-bay for a while - just testing the water with this one.

I did end up bidding on 2 other things though while lookig for ideas - I might have to sell lots at this rate to make any money!

It looks nice, but firstly you can't not accept returns as if a buyer opens a case you will be forced to and I think writing that statement makes you look like you may not be amenable and may put buyers off

Also you may attract more buyers if auctions end of an evening, say 8-9pm - just don't clash with the soaps is my advice.

fergoose · 27/02/2012 11:45

oh and if you state you only have proof of posting you may attract buyers who buy and then claim not to receive and claw back the money. Recorded is best for any value - but I would suggest not advertising that you don't send recorded.

You might want to put some more info in the title - size and colour.

I'd second the advice to send recorded second class. I don't sell very often but have just sold 9 bits of unworn clothing for £280 - all 99p starts too.
I had several people contact me this time to see if I'd do postage cheaper and not send recorded, but you are just laying yourself open to shysters if you do this. I'm also very much in two minds about offering to ship abroad - I had numerous enquiries about shipping to different countries and duly gave them quotes for postage at cost but not a single item was sold abroad so I don't rally thin it is worth it. ( though I stand to be corrected if anyone else has had a more positive experience)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 27/02/2012 19:25

Oh no, can I change these things now?

I've taken off the part about no returns.

Recorded post would be £2.97. I've got 3 watchers. Can I change the postage now do you think?

What would work best for the title - I thought keeping it short would be best but am happy to be proven wrong!

As much info as possible in the title would be good so if, say, someone was searching for a purple White Stuff jumper yours would come up! :) So 'Size 12 BNWT White Stuff purple jumper' or similar.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 27/02/2012 20:06

Right - off to change that bit, thanks!

Any thoughts about if I should change the postage details now that people are watching it?

Oh, and can I change the finish time to something more likely to attract buyers?

I'm really worried about the P+P thing now - how's best to phrase it to avoid the "shysters"?!

did you seel a dress before though? your feedback as a seller?

fergoose · 27/02/2012 20:17

You can't change the end time now it is live unfortunately

Just change the postage to say item will be sent recorded and delete the proof of postage bit. If it sells for more than £46 recorded won't be sufficient so you will need special delivery or courier to be adequately insured.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 27/02/2012 20:34

Oh yes ChewingGum - I'd forgotton all about that, it was a few years ago!!

OK, I'll do that with the changes for P+P and will put it up to £3.25. I can't see it selling for more than £46 but that's worth knowing!

If any items do sell for more than that and you've put it down as will be delivered by recorded delivery I assume that you just make a slight loss on the charges that you'd stated?

Ta Da Grin

That should hopefully do it!

Anyone after a new purple jumper? Wink
