Got a parcel this morning that I have been waiting for, and its not the item I won, so I am assuming the seller has made a mistake.

How are these things usually handled? Its only a cheap item but quite heavy so I dont want to have to pay to send it back.

Has this happened to anyone else? What did you/the seller do?

If the seller refuses to pay postage to send it back then I would keep it, why should you have to fork out when its not the item you paid for

ask the seller to send an SAE to send it back to them? At the end of the day if you don't receive your item you can file a claim for not received and get your money back.

I would email the seller first and see what they say. I wouldn't send it on to the buyer though, I think it is best to return it to the seller then she can sort out sending it to the right person.

This happened to me, and I lost out, because I didnt want to pay the return postage on a heavy-ish item Sad . But because I reported it as item-not-as-described rather than item-not-received, I didnt get my money back Sad

Contact the seller. If it's a genuine mistake they may be happy to rectify.

This happened to me - I contacted the seller who told me to send it back and invoice him for the postage.

similar here.

If the vendor hadn't paid the return postage, and so I hadn't returned it to him, he wouldn't have been able to send it to the real buyer, so would have lost the sale price. I had the postage money in my hand before I sent it.

Obviously you also want to receive the item you did pay for, otherwise he would be able to say parcel was sent and received.

My vendor was embarressed by his mistake, apologetic, anxious to put things right. If you're a decent and honest person, you would be.
