tbh it depends on what u put in your listing did you say cash on collection pick up only or paypal more info in needed

fergoose · 24/02/2012 19:57

you need your paypal set up and linked to your eBay - but if the buyer is collecting please only accept cash, do not take paypal for collection items.

kittycat68 · 24/02/2012 20:15

deffinately do not do paypal on collections as after they have collected it they can say they have not recived the item and get a refund through paypal and you wont be able to do anything about it.

also ALWAYS get either proof of posting or better still recorded delivery so they cant say item has not been recived either especially on expensive items.

op you need to tell us what you put in your listing as item has already sold.

fergoose · 24/02/2012 20:23

Proof of posting will only cover up to £46, if sold for more than that you need courier or special delivery to be adequately insured.

ilovesprouts · 24/02/2012 20:54

i put pick up or arrange your own courier pram sold £140

don't accept buyer arranging their own courier. You won't have a tracking number so again they could claim not received and take back the money from paypal.

Have you set up paypal with your eBay account - has the buyer paid yet?

kittycat68 · 24/02/2012 21:05

i would contact them through messages and ask for cash on collection asap. and ask them when they would like to collect. wait for a response and if all good then send them your address.if they want a courier make sure courier is repertable company and make sure they give you a tracking number!! and they sign for it. paypal will charge you for using thier services too.
most likely they will be collecting. hope all goes well most ebayers are genuine but its always best to cover yourself

ilovesprouts · 24/02/2012 21:37

i live in west yorks they live in linconshire ,they said they would arrange there own courier ,as this is the first time ive sold anything on ebay

fergoose is right here, you are taking a bit of a risk, i would have done collection only. you should always read up on ebays how to sell page first. any way you either take the chance or you cancel the sale and do collection only cash on collection on relisting.

fergoose · 24/02/2012 22:37

I agree with Kitty, I wouldn't let a buyer arrange their own courier. Also you would still have to parcel it up and wait for the courier to turn up.

You are better getting a quote and sending a revise invoice for the item and the courier.

Has the buyer paid yet?

kittycat68 · 24/02/2012 22:41

if you do decide to use a courier yourself i ahve always found myhermes preyty good lots of ebay sellers use them.

ilovesprouts · 25/02/2012 19:53

shes emaild me and said parecel force will pick up and it has to be signed for at both ends .

fergoose · 25/02/2012 20:07

Yes but will they give you the tracking number -- without that you mustn't let the courier take the pram

Also, has the buyer paid yet?

ilovesprouts · 25/02/2012 21:32

ive told her i want the tracking number or prams not going ,no shes not paid yet

OP posts:
fergoose · 25/02/2012 21:40

well you can't let the courier collect it until after she has paid.

ilovesprouts · 25/02/2012 22:18

yeah i know that thanks for all your help
