when to contact seller about item being posted?

I won an aution on Sunday evening and paid straight away by paypal. Anyway Ive had nothing to say that the items had been dispatched. Will it show as being paid as I paid by paypall? I am aware that the seller doesnt want to send the item out before he/she has been paid, but I was under the assumption that paypal was instant.

They have 100% positive feedback and comments mentioned about good communication and quick arrival of previous items.

Its a fancy dress outfit I need for Fri 2nd March. I was hoping to get it soonish as I want to make sure it fits and looks ok so if it doesnt I have time to get something sorted.

When should I contact them to ask if its been sent yet?

I would wait a week before chasing it up - has it not been marked as dispatched yet? Of course it will show as paid to the seller when you paypal them. They have 7 days to post an item as per paypal rules.

No its not marked as dispatched yet. So I contact them Sunday then even though on the advert is said about within 3 days of cleared payment. It wasn't in the advert, but in the postage details as though thats what Ebay say. I also have a delivery estimate of 6-8 working days which includes dispatch time.

well you can contact them now to confirm when they will be sending it, no harm in that I reckon. If they said dispatch in 3 days you would have thought it would be sent today.

They may have done what I sometimes do which is forget to mark as posted Blush but this doesn't always happen. Was it rec delivery?

Thats what Im hoping pooh (Im sure Ive just spoke to you about bras on another thread). Its no biggy if it hasnt been sent yet, but I would like it to be sent out this week so I have a good chance for getting it before next week. My own fault I suppose for leaving it a bit too late.

sorry forgot to say no it wasnt recorded just standard delivery. £3 I paid for delivery. I dont want to leave anything less than 5 stars for everything so am feeling a little guilty about maybe only leaving 4. Will see what happens though.

Why feel guilty - if they haven't provided 5 star service then don't mark 5 stars. did you email the seller?

Don't feel guilty. The things that some people have written about my stuff once sent out. (LILAC -key is in the title, curtains - neutral feedback because they were lilac/grey Hmm not white, saying something was too big - never been worn, sizing on the label from a well know maternity shop!!!)

4 stars is not the end of the world, I am about to leave some vvv rude fb about someone who wants more money for postage - thanks to fergoose and others I am no way going to feel guilty about someone who can't get the postage right to start off with!

Update - well its really a non update as nothing has happened.

I messaged the seller on Wed night and have had no reply or anything at all.

The problem is I need the item for a fancy dress night out this coming Friday so now do I buy something else from ebay at a cost of £16.99 (this is from a shop that says they dispatch within a working day from cleared payment so that would be monday) or wait until Friday and go into town and spend much more than that?

Mini crisis over, it arrived today :) still going to give positive feedback as everything was as it should be, I just had no communication which there could be a good reason for.

I will be marking down on communication. According to the package that was sent it was sent out on Thurs, I paid for it when the auction ended on Sunday evening. I messaged them Wed evening, seems a bit of a coincidence or is that just me? Not that it matters now I suppose as I have got what I paid for.

did they mark it as dispatched with eBay? That would generate an email to you saying it was on its way

It arrived within that time so I don't think you have grounds for complaining about slow delivery. I can understand reducing DSR because of poor comms, though.

Im not saying anything about the delivery, its just the communication side of things that let them down. Its just a coincidence that I messaged them on Wed and they sent it out thurs (4 days after clear payment not 3 like promised) so that leads me to believe they saw the message then sent it out.

you are entitled to say in the comment "Lovely item, paid Sunday, posted Thursday, arrived Saturday"

And three stars for communication is I think more than generous. Two would not be unreasonable.
