I have a bottle of Chanel No 5 perfume , brand new. I bought it thinking it was Chanel mademoiselle. I want to sell it on eBay. But not sure if I can post liquids. Any advice ? Thanks

I sold a bottle of yellow Clarins perfume that I thought was the orange one. Got about 1/3 of its value on eBay, but it was fine to post. Just wrapped it in bubblewrap.

You will be ok as long as it does not need airmail, as it is flammable.

Oh thanks for replies. I can't believe how stupid I was buying the wrong one.

Can't you take it back and ask them to exchange it?

rainbow77 · 16/02/2012 21:31

I wish i could return it . I bought in at duty free in Edinburgh airport. On way home to Cork in Ireland. It was on the mademoiselle shelf. And was wrapped in plain white paper. I bought it before Xmas and only opened it today when my old bottle ran out. You can imagined my Sad face. I burst into tears too. But that could be pregnancy hormones too.

Bear in mind that most of the post in UK is shipped around the country via airmail. Found this out from local post office when trying to post a bottle of v. expensive perfume

rainbow77 · 19/02/2012 20:53

Thanks pudden. That's what I'm worried about.

I still sent it though Blush...post mistress looked the other way whilst I bunged it in the sack! I've also sent one to Japan

Waiting for the next free listing weekend. To put it up.

my daft dad (aged 90) bought a bottle of Tom Ford aftershave last year after a couple of brandies and a bit flirt with ther 'perfume lassies'. Got home and found he had picked up the wrong one ; took it back the next day and they wouldn't refund or change it the rotten buggers even though it hadn't been taken out of the cellophane.

I sold it on Ebay for £50 more than he paid for it so in the end all was well esp as I got the £50 :o

rainbow77 · 21/02/2012 18:26

Oh that's good pudden. Glad he made a profit
