Can software beat Ebay in sniping ?

Say the current highest bid is mine at £50 but I put a maximum bid in of £200, is there software which can place a bid so late that Ebay itself has no time to add another bid from me and the item could be sold to someone else at £51 (or any price under £200) ?

Also, if anyone can recommend good software for bidding on Ebay I would be very interested.

Not certain but I think a prior higher bid would still beat a snipe. But I've only used free snipers that bid about 10 secs before the end. Ivthink some of the paid ones are 1-2 secs before. Try Gixen - it's better than Bidtamer I used before. Probably more info on EBay or snipe sites about the technical side.
