Hi there
I have just sold an item on ebay for £87 plus £4 for postage. The amount credited to my paypal account is £87.71.
I think the 0.71 is charges but why has the £4 postage not been added ? Also why has the 0.71 been added and not deducted....I really dont understand my account at all!!
Can someone throw some light on this pleae?

you have been charged £3.29 paypal charges - these have been deducted at source so you have received the balance. this is separate to eBay fees for which you will be invoiced

If an item is £87 recorded delivery won' be adequate insurance so please send special or courier. Sorry if this is obvious, but you need to be protected against loss, etc.

Oh I see. Thankyou. So is it best to wait until the charges have been taken out before I withdraw the money?
Yes I will send special delivery.

the paypal charges have already been taken so you don't need to wait. As for the eBay invoice then that is up to you.

Sorry..one more question. Do ebay take their charges off and then pay the balance to pay pal? Where will ebay charges be deducted from?

log into My eBay and then hit account then seller account

there it will show what you owe eBay and then you can set up automatic payment method with PayPal - if you have credit in your PayPal at that time then it will come off the balance.
