The Rise Of Ebay Timewasters!

This month alone I've had to raise 3 cases for one reason or other!

So some twonk has purchased 10 BIN items that I was selling totalling 130 pounds. It turns out this buyer has a habit of purchasing/ bidding on items with no intention of ever paying up for them! Angry

Can I relist the items immediately and still get my fee credit back or should I wait another 2 days to raise a case to get it?

You need to raise non paying bidder disputes for each item separately on day 4, then after closing on day 7 then relist

Also add them to your blocked bidder list too

I've had 2 buyers who clearly have no intention of paying for items, but I have to wait for a week before I can file an unpaid item reminder and 4 days more before I can cancel the transaction. Add on another 10 days for the listing and it'll be a month before I get any money for dd's boots. She was thrilled when they went too :(

I remember the good old days when buyers could be negged for buying and not paying. At least it meant that you could look at a case like this and be sure that the money wasn't coming in.

I am really not fond of Ebay right now...

you can start the unpaid item process on day 4, then close on day 7. No need to wait a week before starting it.

Thanks for that info Fergoose. I could have sworn I'd tried to file something on Friday, but it wouldn't do anything, but perhaps it was earlier. That'll learn me to be more patient :)

as long as it is exactly 4 days it will work, so if auction ended 8pm you have to wait until 8pm 4 days later, and not a minute before

MrsZoidberg · 31/01/2012 10:46

I've had one of those weeks too. Loads of silly issues -

  • moved and ebay address change didn't work (this one sounds genuine and its a cheap item, so let her off),
  • bought 3 of an item when only wanted one, (this one was annoying as I had another buyer email me to ask if I had anymore in stock, so had to wait until first cancelled, and relist)
  • one went through checkout and told it they were paying by cheque for their 2 items and could they have an invoice with combined postage so they could pay via paypal - nope cos you've already checked out and Ebay now won't let me send a combined invoice!

Plus the good old timewasters who don't bother to pay Angry - I run a shop so virtually all of my items are BIN, so why buy and then not pay immediately?

NomDePrune · 31/01/2012 14:40

There's a tick box so you can request immediate payment with BIN - it's a bit hidden on the badly designed listing page.
