I haven't been ebaying very long and have only ever posted within the UK. I get loads of requests to post elsewhere (mostly for boys clothes) but I'm worried of the hassle of posting abroad so I always say no. Is it worth it? And can it really make a difference on your bids? Someone once emailed me back saying I would make much more money if I posted elswhere. Although they could have been saying that just so I would post it to them.

It's horses for courses really. Some people do, some people don't.

I do post to outside the UK and have sent to Finland, Spain, France, Germany and Portugal, amongst others. I have never had a problem with either payment or sending. Ebay have a price finder link to ascertain postage and the royal mail website has a price finder section which you can use to do the same. You just need to weigh, check the price and respond to their message asking for a price. I would say, and this applies to posting within the UK or abroad, to always get proof of postage so you can claim if it goes missing.

If you do send abroad it will obviously open up a much wider market for you. As far as I know the same rules apply abroad as do here but you may want to check that.

I hope this helps but someone much more knowledgeable than me should be along shortly ...

I only send 2nd class recorded as I find this offers me the best protection therefore don't send abroad. It's not just things going wring but chargebacks due to funds reversals . If I hadn't done it recorded then it would have been a £25 loss!

yes but read the thread I've just written about not sending to E Europe! Maybe just my experience but it's been horrendous! Rest of the world..ok, but i would say..the developed countries.
