I bought this for my Nan, we felt that the listing said you got the bedspread, pillowshams and matching curtains www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250934834956?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1598wt_1139 however when it came it was just the bedspread.

My Nan was pleased with the bedspread, but she wouldn't have spent that much if she knew it didn't include all the other bits. I have emailed the seller who said that the matching items are listed with the bedspread, but my arguement is the description doesn't make that clear. The way I read it you got the whole lot.

My Nan wants to keep the bedspread, but is there anything I can do with ebay as I feel the description is really misleading and the seller doesn't agree.

All you can do is open a not as described case and return it for a refund - but I don't really think it was not as described to be honest.

As you had drop down boxes to choose from it did show you were buying the bedspread only.

I just had a look at the description and it really imo is not very clear, very misleading. If you read the top it appears to say that all of it is included and the item description at the bottom says "item description" NOT items. Then when you look at the drop down box it separetes them all out.Far too misleading.

I can't see the usual disclaimer of this auction is for ........ only (but maybe I missed it),if there is no such disclaimer then I would ring their customer services and tell them you are very confused as their auction is not very straightforward or clear.

I agree. At first I agreed with OP, but now I've seen the drop down boxes it would have been clear to me what I was buying.

yes maybe their description could have been less ambiguous.

At the weekend the only headings that appeared in the drop down box was the size of the bed, e.g. single, double or king. There was no option for the length of the curtains or pair (which is the pillowshams).

I have emailed them again saying I'm really not happy as I feel it is not clear.

As my nan likes the bedspread I guess there's not a lot I can do. Although I am annoyed as there were similar style ones which definately included the pillowshams for £25 so £50 for everything didn't seem odd.

well in that case return it for a refund and then buy elsewhere - eBay won't give you a partial refund.

There really isn't much more you can do.

Sorry I didn't explain what I meant very well! My Nan preferred that design, but if she had realised that it didn't come with the pillowshams she wouldn't have gone for that design. We can't get that particular design cheaper.

However the fact that other bedspreads and shams are £25 meant that I thought £50 for bedspread, shams and curtains seemed right. If it had been £25 for the one we bought I would have probably emailed them first and I wouldn't expect to get that all for £25 IYSWIM.

Now my Nan has got it she does love it, but I am just annoyed that she's now got to spend an extra £17 if she wants the matching pillowshams (she wasn't really fussed about the curtains). If it were up to me I would be sending it back.

This is the first time in 8 years that I have been hacked off over something I got on ebay!

Thank you all for your responses though. I will just chalk it up to experience then and be even more careful in future.

I can understand the disappointment - could you pick out a colour or 2 from the bedspread and buy pillows in those colours in plain fabric, much cheaper and could look nice.

Sympathies, I've been caught out by that kind of thing, too. Live and learn!
