Asked by seller to retract my bid

Apparently the can't sell the item. Shouldn't they cancel the auction then rather than me retract my bid? I think that they want to revise the listing or relist as they missed out the brand name.

the seller can cancel your bid can't they - they don't need to ask you to do it.

It has turned out to be a new seller having a wobble about only having one bid and wanting to pull the listing. Some more bids have turned up so the seller should be happy.

oh right ok - well most people bid in the last 20 seconds or so - so it is difficult to tell what price an item will fetch.

I would have thought that most people would know that from bidding or watching before trying to sell.

yep indeed, you would have thought so :)
