Been over charged on postage...

Bought something from eBay and have been charged 6.50 for just over £2 of postage, packaging was a small amount of brown paper (tgat was ripped when it arrived)

I have contacted tge seller to say I am unhappy they have overcharged by so much and feel it is profiteering which is against the rules.

So other than neg feedback is there another way, perhaps one that will result in some money coming back my way?

Was the P&P stated on the listing?

If so, you knew what it was going to be so there's not a lot you can do (other than not buy from sellers who take the mickey charging such high P&P but its a bit late for that now)

I won more than one item so it was combined postage. If they'd been sent separately wutha little over then fair enough.

I think you should ask the seller to refund the postage overpayment

It's all very well saying the price was on the auction, but with the greatest of respect you don't know the weight or quality of the packaging until you receive it, so you are trusting the seller not to be greedy and not to break eBay fee avoidance rules.

I think you are right to complain, unfortunately there is no way to force a refund but you can leave appropriate feedback and low stars. If you want low stars to count you need to mark them as 1, 2 etc rather than leaving them blank, if that makes sense!

You can report them to ebay for fee avoidance.

I agree with fergoose

Ask the seller to refund, if they don't, leave neg. feedback.

I bought a purse last week from ebay. Seller had only 3 feedback rating so v. new to ebay. Was charging £7.00 for postage. Sent her an email to point out her error...

Thanks folks glad it's not just me thinking it's wrong. Will give them a chance to reply and if they don't I will directly ask for some of it back. Just don't want to look like I am blackmailing re the feedback iyswim
