Refund on item damaged in post - do I get postage refunded too?

Am I right in thinking that the seller will have to return my full payment - price of the item and outward postage? And I will have to cover the postage to return to her?

I know this probably comes up fairly often, but I've tried looking on the ebay discussion boards and policies etc and can't find anything.

TIA

yes - but the return postage costs you can't enforce the refund, you are relying on the sellers goodwill for that.

Make sure you return by trackable means so you can prove they received it

If you open a case with eBay when you scroll down to say what you want you can tick the box 'other' then next to it write refund

Then when escalated you may get an eBay no fault refund without the need to return the item
