question about revising an item listing v relisting it

Hello experienced ebayers!

I am selling a highchair on ebay, originally we going to freecycle it then dh said why not try ebay first, so I listed it on there. The highchair is in excellent condition but it did have some bad staining on the straps. I listed it showing the staining clearly and mentioning it in the item description.

Anyway, today I thought why not have another go at removing the staining, and somehow I've been able to get rid of all of it Grin

my problem is I took a new picture, and then tried to edit the listing, but ebay wouldn't allow me to remove the original picture or revise the original text, just to add to it. so now the listing has a pic with staining and a pic without staining!! i've explained in the text that i removed the stains and the second pic shows this.

but would it be better to just remove the listing and put another one on? problem is i have some watchers and one bid.

thanks for your advice.

If I were you I would cancel the bid, revise it, then let the cancelled bidder know so they can bid again if they wish.

What Fergoose said, use the excuse "Mistake in the listing" to cancel it.

thanks all. interestingly, after i revised it (and after i posted this) i got another bid! so i think i'll keep it up and see what happens now. i guess seeing as i was expecting nothing for it, anything is a bonus. although it would be slightly irritating to have to arrnage a courier if it only sells for 2 quid....anyway for now i'll see what happens.

thanks!
