Buying off ebay question??

Ive bought quite a few bits over the past few years off ebay, and mostly pay by paypal the money would then be taken within a few days from my bank account.

I bought a toaster on the 18th december and paid the same way, through paypal, having checked though the money has not been taken from my bank, i have the toaster so the seller obviously got paid, is this usual? i had no money in paypal to take it from so it would of had to come from the bank account alone.

I also bought an oven through a seller on ebay last monday 2nd jan, recieved the over on thursday but the money is still in my bank account, surely this is way too long??

Was there already money in your PayPal account?

My bank account only gets debited if there's not enough money in my PayPal.

No there was nothing, i havent sold anything for a few months and had emptied it all out, thats the only other reason i can think off that nothing was taken but ive checked its been empty for weeks... strange

you haven't got a credit card attached to your account have you?

Can you actually find the transaction in your Paypal payment history? do you have a credit card linked to your paypal as well as a bank account - could the money have come from there instead?

It does seem very odd - i find payments can sometimes take a few days but never weeks.

Hi, no credit card attached at all, just my debit card and my bank account which is the same account, the transaction appears in Paypal but nothing in my bank account shows the money as being taken and the balance reflects this too.
normally ive only had to wait 2-3 days and it comes out, this is just strange and i have no idea why at all...

No I'm afraid I have no idea either! - is it worth contacting paypal to ask?
