Paid for 1st class delivery but 10 days later still not arrived

I won a book on ebay that I was desperate for, normally I wouldn't pay £3.50 p&p but I really wanted the book asap. The book should've arrived on Dec 19th. I thought maybe it had been delayed due to Christmas etc but when it got to 8 days past the date it should've arrived I e-mailed the seller. Her response was:
'Hi, sorry for the delay. I am away for christmas and must confess that I forgot to bring your book with me to post. I will be back home on Monday and will post it out on Tuesday. Many thanks and sorry for the delay.

Do you think this is acceptable and would I be really cheeky to ask for some poastal refund? Can't decide if I'm being petty or not so over to you lovely ladies.........

How long did they state in the listing for posting the item?

I dunno about a partial refund - I would ask for a full refund and shop elsewhere - as per paypal the seller has to dispatch within 7 days, not 2 weeks

they said would post for the item to arrive within 3 to 4 days:

So IANBU??

I agree with you - seller is pretty useless to say the least.

Thku fergoose - just found the book on Amazon lots cheaper so have asked for refund!
