I sold an expensive coat which was sent recorded delivery. The buyer opened a case as it hadn't arrived, I tracked teh parcel and Royal Mail had attempted a delivery but the buyer was out & a while you were our card was left.

Ebay have just closed teh case in teh buyers favour even though I provided tracking information, is this right?! I have been on teh phone to their call centre in Manilla all morning and keep getting told different thing, I appealed the case and the appeal was denied 10 minutes later... Help!!!

Wont the coat be getting sent back to you?

RainbowSheep · 22/12/2011 19:30

Well it was sent 20 days ago and is still showing as being at the depot even though recorded is meant to be returned after 7 days, royal mail weren't very helpful.

is it worth calling Royal Mail - I wonder if items aren't being returned at the moment due to Christmas rush. Surely buyer should have arranged redelivery if they still wanted it? Did you tell buyer the coat was waiting for them to collect.

Your buyer has not signed for it thus it is not delivered now the buyer though could go and pick it up and have the coat and the money back.

Only ever send items worth over £49 by Special Delivery.

Oh and they only keep Recorded items for 7 days then return to sender, she has the item I betcha.

FabbyChic · 22/12/2011 23:20

There is nothing you can do, she has the item Im sure, put it down to experience and next time send Special Delivery.
