Hi
I used to ebay a lot but am a bit rusty with the rules and what is deemed as being reasonable.
Item was purchased on 27.11.11 and posted 2nd class (proof of posting) on 28.11.11. Buyer is now asking for refund as item not received. Royal Mail say you can't claim until 15 working days have passed. Is it reasonable to ask the buyer to wait 15 working days just in case ?
Or should I just refund now :(
TIA

I think in light of the time of year, and how post is slow at the moment, you could ask the buyer to wait a little longer.

Yeh, definitely just email buyer, apologise and say Royal Mail do not deem post as missing until 15 days have past during which time hopefully the item will turn up, and that you'll be happy to refund as soon as 15 days have passed so that you can make a claim with Royal Mail. I always refund them straight after the 15 days as Royal Mail can take a while with reimbursing, but they will do it eventually.

thank you. I've emailed her and she has been very reasonable and says she will check with the sorting office. Fingers crossed it turns up.

Last year I posted stuff around 13 December that didn't arrive until mid January. Thank goodness for some very understanding buyers.
