Not happy with some shoes I bought, can anyone advise?

I bought a pair of kids shoes on eBay. They looked immaculate in the photos, were described as having a couple ofnscratches on the front.

When they arrived there were a couple of big patches where the coating has kind of peeled away from the leather. There is no way I would have bid as much if they had been photographed to show the patches or described properly.

Do I have a case, or as she did say there were a couple of scratches do I have to just suck it up?

As they are not as described, email her. Then open a case.

I have emailed her, she said she did say they had scratches on the front in the description, which she did, but it wasn't an adequate description IMO. So the next step is to open a case?

I think there is a difference between "a couple of scratches and patches of coating peeled away!

If you open a case you'll have to return for a refund. Perhaps you could ask for a partial refund if you are happy to keep them for a lower price

If you open a case with eBay and when it asks what resolution you want, tick the box other and then type in refund next to it - then you may get a refund without having to return them

And make sure you leave appropriate feedback and stars too :)

She has emailed back and offered a refund or partial refund. How much should I ask for? I paid £8 + £4 postage.

I cba posting them back for a full refund at this time of year.

Phew, I asked for £3.25 as that is how much a tube of scuff restorer is and she refunded £4.25.
