How long to wait before we accept it's a non paying bidder?

DH "sold" a bike frame on Ebay on Sunday evening, for £230.
He has contacted the buyer that evening to arrange a mutually convinient time for a courier; no reply' He has also sent him an invoice, and has contacted him again to ask him to make contact. All messages have gone unanswered.

Do we just have to accept it's a non paying bidder? Very annoyed as it's a good price for the frame, and DH has been put on reduced hours and I am on mat leave, so the money will be very useful.

open a dispute (you can do this 4 days after bidding closes, 7 is good too)- then buyer will either pay or ebay will close the auction and refund your fees, or you can offer a second chance offer to the next highest bidder.

You cant open a dispute until 7 days (or so i thought)?
I have had a few in the past month, one never payed up so i got my fee's back ,the other one payed as soon as i opened the dispute.

you can open on day 4, then close on day 7 to get your fees back if they haven't paid
