Have sold a couple of items in ebay but buyer not paid yet. Sale occurred nearly a month ago, so what do I do now? Have messaged them a few times but nothing.
Also keep getting message to leave feedback but I can't till they pay can I?

wow a month! I send reminder on day 4, then close on day 7 and get fees back

get cracking and open the dispute - one for each item!

I'd cancel the transaction if I were you stating not paid and buyer unresponsive as reasons. you'll get your fees back that way but you'll have to relist or give a second chance offer to the next highest bidder.

If you cancel it you need the buyer to agree to get your fees back - if you file for a non paying bidder you get your fees back, buyer gets a strike (black mark on their account), and once closed they are unable to leave you feedback, so you should really file a non paying bidder report.

3 days. After that I send a gentle reminder in the form of a nicely worded email something along the lines of "thanks for your purchase. your item is ready for immediate dispatch. Unfortunately this can not be done until payment is received. many thanks" A month is excessive.

oopsiedoopsie · 05/12/2011 14:14

I send a polite mail after 3 days, my auctions always state payemtn within 3 days in the description.
The polite mail tells them they have 2 days to pay or I will raise a non payment dispute thingy.
You would be surprised how many people leave it until the 4th day of the dispute to actually pay, the piss taking bastards.
I hate not being able to leave negative feedback for buyers anymore.

eBay state you abide by the sellers listing so if they ask for payment within 24 hours you make payment within 24 hours. Most buyers pay immediately or within 12 hours however at the weekend it could take longer as they are not at their computer. There is a time limit on how long you can actually leave it before filing a non payment dispute if you are over a month you might be too late. Fergoose might know how long it is it is either 42 or 30 days something like that.

fergoose · 05/12/2011 18:52

from 4-32 days according to this

I thought it was 36 days limit to get your fvf back (just had a npb).
In reality I'll give people up to about 2 weeks to pay, OP. Go to the Ebay Resolution Centre now to go thru the process to cancel the transaction and get your fees back.
