First time eBay seller - when do give feedback on the buyer?

I'm new to eBay and have just sold my first item (Smile v excited!). The buyer paid immediately so I toddled off to the post office today. Do I leave feedback now, or wait until it has been received? Obviously they'll get full marks right for the prompt payment, but I've heard horror stories of buyers pretending not to receive goods etc, so should I wait to check that hasn't happened?
Thanks

It's up to you - I always leave it straight away as i can't see the point of waiting. You can't leave a neg for a buyer anyway, so there is no bargaining to be had by waiting - even if they do end up being the buyer from hell.

yes, wait until you know they have received it and are happy with it.

feedback should always be at the end of the transaction so that you can give accurate comments. Paying is just the start of a transaction

I leave feedback on receipt of payment, unless its a high value item then I wait for feedback from them first.

Yes I agree, I leave feedback as soon as they have paid as their part of the bargain is done. Hate, hate, hate it when ebayers say 'leave feedback then we will do the same'.

I do what fabby does if expensive I wait until they have received it but leave immediately for small value items
