I sold a toy on ebay, it was bulky so it was picked up by courier on the 9th. Never geared anything. But another item I sent arrived next day.
Today I received an email from buyer asking who I sent item with as they hadn't received it. I replied statute this:

Dear wellbren,

Hi, sorry to hear you haven't received your item yet. I have just been to track the item, sent with city link, and this was what was displayed

It appears the item has been out twice but no one was home and looks as though it's back out today.
Thanks

I then received a message saying she has been in and out and wished city Lin had stated a am or pm on the card they originally left (so they did know who I sent it with!) and the issue is now that she either has to collect item from dept or send it back to me, and can I arrange another delivery and get them to state am or pm. She says she can't do this as I went through another company, which I did. Parcel2go in fact.

So what now? If I resend the item it will cost again, especially if having to arrange am or pm delivery, but I also don't want to risk negative feedback.

If they have left a card then she should have given them a call to rearrange! They will probably have told her then that they can't guarantee morning or afternoon delivery. If she knew it was coming via a courier then she should have made arrangements for someone to have been in.

I don't know if it costs you for them to send it back to you. If she specifically wanted a am or pm she should have said before you booked the courier and she'd have had to pay the extra payment for that!

you don't pay for goods eturned to you as not deliverable but she could have then asked citylink to re deliver to work address/ a neighbour etc,

I state on my sales will be sent by courier as much cheaper than standard parcels but if you would prefer royal mail get in touch for quotation;

as something weighing 6kg will be £10+ with royal mail but about £5 with courier cheap couriers do not do am/pm but she could for an extra fee arrange for saturday ( about £9)

she should pay for second lot of postage

Where it says "16/11/11 12:13 Delivery rescheduling request received" that surely means she has contacted them about redelivery, don't you think?

If it was me and it ended up being returned to me, I'd tell her she can either pay for the courier costs again, maybe with another company, or refund her minus the P&P. I can't understand why she's trying to tell you the company needs to specify a time, I doubt you calling them will make them change their policies! Confused

And don't worry about a negative feedback. If she does leave a neg you can try disputing it with ebay using the evidence you have. Otherwise a calm reply explaining what actually happened will usually satisfy future buyers that you're actually a good seller.
