My partner sold a piece of our furniture on eBay, it ended two weeks ago, the buyer paid 2 days later, it was a collection only item, due to size, weight etc. We have since sent 4 e-mails, to arrange collection, including our contact no but we have not heard a peep from them? We have looked under contact seller details and all it says is that they joined e-bay on the day they bid on our auction, so no feedback? Really puzzled by this as it was a lot of money to pay, to not collect it?! Anyone experienced this before? Also we asked for cash on collection only but they done it through paypal? Any thoughts, do I just wait or contact eBay? Thanks

ok firstly refund their payment - you should never accept paypal for a collection only item

I would then get their details and call them - give them a deadline, 7 days to collect and pay with cash or you will cancel sale and relist

Thank you. I will get my partner to refund it, as the money is still in paypal, then go through the link, to try and contact them. So strange!

fergoose out if interest (as in similar position) why shoudl you never accept Paypal for a collection only item?

They could collect and then dispute never getting it.

What Fergoose said, and make sure to cancel the auction formally on the Ebay resolution centre (there are rules about how, only within a limited time window) to get your Final value fees back, too.

plus if they pay cash on collection then Paypal doesn't skim 3.4% + 50p off the top!
