What do I do? He has said he'll refund postage as main item I wanted that he said is lost is one of three. I don't want other two things and told him this. So can I cancel?

yes tell him you want a full refund and then he can cancel the transactions and get his fees back.

Thanks. Am new to ebay.
Waiting for him to get back to me. The photo clearly shows the main item. Can't understand how you can list an item for sale, then lose it.

This happened to me once. The seller gave me a full refund and cancelled the transaction, but listed as the reason for cancelling that I changed my mind over wanting the item! So I left neutral feedback, and the seller sent me a shouty message that I should not have left neutral feedback. But I pointed out (s)he had seemed dishonest in blaming me for cancelling the transaction, and that nobody should have for sale an item that they don't actually have. The seller backed down eventually.

i wonder if the seller expected more money for the item. Keep your eyes peeled, he may relist it (not that you would want to buy again if he is dishonest).

Ask him to send you a mutual cancellation so the sale can be cancelled.

Dont leave feedback and see if he relists the missing item, if he does leave negative feedback.
