Phone arrived, cable knackered, can I ask for part-refund?

Bought a phone on ebay which arrived today. He mentioned broken back cover in listing = fine but didn't mention fact data/charge cable is knackered - end nearly broken off with bare wires sticking out of it, no way I'm plugging it in! Cheapest replacement on ebay is £6.49 - can I ask for a partial refund?

yes you can ask - many sellers won't offer them though, but will just ask you to return the whole thing for a full refund.

Yeah, tbh that's what I do as a seller - offer a whole refund. Really quite annoyed about the state of this cable though!
