DH bought something off ebay that was pick-up only. When we went to collect it (a 3-hour round trip), the seller had forgotten to give us one essential component, which DH didn't realise until we got it home. He contacted the seller, who has agreed to post it to us but wants DH to pay. He has agreed as it's only £1.75 and he got the item for a really good price to start with, but at the same time he's a bit grumpy over the principle- why should he pay for the seller's mistake? WWYD?

I'd meet the seller half way. It does seem silly that you're paying for the seller's mistake though, the seller should put it down to experience.

But then again, your DH should have checked that it was all there before he left. They are both at fault to be honest.

I'm amazed the seller didn't just take it on the chin for that amount. You're the one who can give negative feedback.

I would refuse to pay it - cheeky seller.

Thanks for the advice, DH has decided to pay it just to keep the peace- not sure what feedback he's going to give!
