OK, so bought item for £125 local pick up only.

I buy it, contact him and he says he will send his address/phone number once the paypal money is showing in his account Hmm - all very polite I might add and we can collect as soon as.

I reply saying would he not prefer cash on pick up, and although he can look at my feedback and see I have a well established account, advise to be careful accepting PP for pick up only items blah blah blah, but if he would still like me to pay via PP I can still, also leave my number.

I finally recieve another message, but just a duplicate of the first one he sent about once mojney is in PP blah blah, now not sure if he has made a mistake or being a bit erm.....rude. I don't mind if he wants PP but I also realise that due to him having only sold 2 items nearly a year ago and only 55 feedback, that PP will prob hold onto his money will they not?

If so - he cannot make me wait the 21 days until I can collect it can he? Bloody hell! Not heard from him again now, I did email politely saying about this and that I didn't want to do anything abuot payment until I heard from him.......of course the poor bloke might have just gone out, but he doesn't seem to know how it works and concerned he will want to wait until the funds are released to him Hmm

Yes you are right.

He would be foolish to accept paypal - you could pay, collect and then do a paypal chargeback for the cash and he would be unable to prove delivery and would lose the money. (not that you would, but many people would do this)

why don't you pull his details and give him a ring up?

As for the 21 days - I don't know what the limits are, but it is possible he may have to wait 21 days, but if you leave feedback then that does release the funds to him.

Either way, as a buyer I would not pay that amount before collecting, what if you get there and it is not as described. You will then have to file with paypal to get your money back, and if you did a not as described dispute wouldn't you have to prove you had given the item back (ie delivered with a signature) to get your money back, or would you have to do the dispute as a not received case. It could all get very complicated and messy!

Thanks fergoose, he did get back just now to apologise that he only just got my messgaes for some reason and that cash is fine! You know when you just get someone who you think is going to be a bit er....tricky Grin

I guess, if I had paid PP and it wasn't ok, then I'd have taken it, boxed it up put in claim and couriered it back to him Grin
