I posted a SIM card I'd been given a while ago with £20 credit on it. It's never been used. An Ebayer asked me what the phone number for the SIM was, which I thought was a bit odd, but after checking with DP we agreed that we couldn't possibly think of a way you could somehow 'take' money from a SIM card without actually having the SIM itself.

Anyway, I was just about to list it again, and something made me put the SIM into my own phone to check the balance. Bloody good job I did, 'cos they've gone and cleared it out! It now has 1p credit on Angry

Will Ebay be able to do anything about this? Or should I just put it down to experience and forget about it?

How would they have managed that - is it possible to steal credit from a sim card?

I doubt eBay would do anything.

How long have you had the Sim card as some of them have a time limit on them i.e. you must use it at least once every 6 months.

I can't think of how someone would be able to steal credit as then they could steal it with any mobile number - unless they told the provider that they had lost said card and could they transfer it over as the provider would be able to see that it hadn't been used ?
