Am I being unreasonable????

I bought a beautiful monsoon dress on ebay last week - I ended up getting it for £25 which I thought was ok as it had only been worn a couple of times and would alast me the whole winter for work.

Anyway - dress came, was beautiful but hung on me - and as people at work joke that I buy most of my clothes from 'Sacks are Us' I am amking an affort not to look like I am wearing a sack.

Anyway realised that it was hanging on me as it had belt loops but no belt and if it had a belt would probably be perfect.

Anyway - have no belts that woud go and hate shopping - asked for a refund - she is saying no as she never mentioned a belt in the listing and so I shouldn't expect one - although she has since admitted that she bought it at a cut price because it was missing its belt!!!

Have got the resolution people involved but have to wait a while before they make a decision and she is just not budgng!!!

So should she have been honest and mentioned that the dress should have had a belt with it but she was not in posession of the belt or should I have not expected to get the belt with the dress - just sad, lonely, forlorn, empty belt loops!!

she is in the wrong. Anything that should come with an item should be there, or mentioned if missing. eg., if selling a car you should mention if the wheels are missing :)

Did you mention the belt loops in the resolution bit? This may prevent any confusion. You will probably be asked to return it (trackable) and will receive a refund.

Brilliant - yes I have mentioned the belt loops - she is saying again and again that as she didn't mention the belt loops I shouldn't have expected a belt.

Think she is being very snotty and sending me messages telling me to relist it - I have said that I can't as would have to mention that the belt is missing and won't get what I have paid for it back.

I agree that she's in the wrong. If a dress has belt loops and the belt is missing then it should have been mentioned in the listing as it's incomplete.

Fuming' this is her latest post - There was no belt with the dress, which is why I bought it for a reduced price and why it was sold at such a reduced price. The dress has been sold exactly as it is seen in the photos and described in the listing. It's a shame the dress did not meet your expectations but I listed it in agreement with ebay policy. The item was listed as used and there was no suggestion of a belt with it at all - so the fact that you expected something beyond what is listed and shown is totally unreasonable. You can't return the item saying a part is missing because that part wasn't there in the first place, or in the listing in any way. Also, I clearly state on all listings that I do not accept returns. In the past I have returned items if they have not been as listed upon receipt but this item was exactly as it was listed. I'm happy for ebay to decide the outcome of this matter

Can you really just sell things and say 'I don;t accept returns'???

I wouldn't bother to reply to be honest - just wait for the dispute to run its course. You will only upset yourself.

That's crap! She should have stated that the item was incomplete in the listing. After all, if she sold a top with a missing button, would that be ok as long as she didn't state that all buttons were present? No. Cheeky cow!

Oh, and by not stating that the belt was missing she has misrepresented the product. When you buy a faulty item from a shop, you are made aware of the flaws and your agreement to purchase is based on full disclosure.

erm, if there are belt loops there is supposed to be a belt!

so she left it out of her description and her listing was misleading.

all this hinges on whether or not you could see the belt loops in the photos though.

Couldn;t see belt loops in pictures - she has siad that I shouldn;t expect a belt if she didn;t mention the loops or the belt at all - I thnk she was disengenuous in her listing not to mention either and just expect me to put up with it.

Bad feedback - am going to be scathing.

let us know how you get on with this.

I'm now going to list a car. I won't mention the missing engine and if buyers "expect something beyond what is listed and shown " then they can't have a refund can they?? because I will also state the pointless "returns not accepted"
I'm going to make a fortune with this kind of business thinking
